The prime minister is expected to preside over a meeting on the security situation in the metropolis, and will also be informed about ongoing development projects.
PM Khan will attend the Bhasha Dam fundraising program at Governor House. The governor has been assigned to organize the fundraising event.
To the surprise of PTI supporters and political opponents alike, the party won 14 of the 21 Karachi seats in the recent general election. The prime minister also won a seat in the metropolis (NA-243) with a margin of landslide, but later evicted him for his seat in his ancestral hometown, Mianwali.
The PTI government has granted two seats to members of the Qatah-Pakistan Muttahida Movement in its federal cabinet and has recently incorporated Ali Zaidi, the Karachi leader of the party, into the cabinet as Minister Maritime.
Dr. Arif Alvi, Karachi leader of PTI, is expected to be sworn in as president on September 9. The party has announced that it will contest the partial elections in the seats vacated by its leaders after winning the general elections.
